DIY Bridal Emergency Kit

It has taken you and your partner weeks, months, and sometimes years to plan your dream wedding and the day has finally arrived. You may have planned everything perfectly to ensure everything runs smoothly on your magical day, but accidents are bound to happen. Whether it’s a ripped dress, a headache, or a spilled glass of Cabernet Sauvignon, whether your wedding is inside or outside, large or small, chances are you’ll need at least some of these items on hand. And if you don’t — great! At least you were prepared.

Hygiene & Grooming

  1. Tweezers – Pluck away stray hairs, splinters, and fingernail snags by adding tweezers to your emergency kit.
  2. Breath Mints – Freshen up before your first kiss as a married couple or when greeting your guests at the reception.
  3. Tissues – These are essential for the tears of joy everyone will be shedding at the ceremony, or if your wedding is outdoors, tissues are good to have on-hand for any allergies.
  4. Lip Balm or Lip Gloss – Perfect for softer kisses, plumper lips and ensuring your lips don’t look dry in your wedding photos.
  5. Perfume or Cologne – Have your favorite perfume or cologne in a travel-sized version to freshen up throughout your wedding day.
  6. Hair Kit – Have a mini hair kit with extra hair ties, bobby pins, a small comb and hair spray to fix any loose strands of hair.

First Aid Items

  1. Panado – Ward of any unwanted headaches with a panado or your go-to anti-inflammatory.
  2. Seasonal Allergy Medication – If you plan on having floral at your wedding or getting married near a field or forest, have these at hand for any sudden allergy attacks.
  3. Plasters – Use regular plasters for cuts and scrapes. Include some blister plasters to prevent issues from uncomfortable shoes!
  4. Cotton Balls – Cotton balls can be used to clean up and wipe off several different items. They’re great for helping with makeup, skincare, and cleaning.
  5. Heel Pads – Heel pads are little jelly strips that go on the inside of the back of your shoes, and they can prevent uncomfortable rubbing while dancing or walking.

Additional Items

  1. Sewing Kit – This is essential for things like broken zippers and missing buttons. Include at least black or white thread plus a sewing needle and an extra button or two.
  2. Small Scissors – Essential for cutting loose clothing strands and clothing tags / labels.
  3. Safety Pins – Fix split seams and fallen accessories with a standard safety pin.
  4. Lindt Roller – Lindt rollers are perfect for tidying up black pants and jackets before photos and getting rid of any unwanted fluff and hair.
  5. Fashion Tape – The last thing you want is for your wardrobe to slip up or over on the day of your wedding. This is why double-sided fashion tape is so important. It can be used to secure your wedding dress or bra straps.
